Non B and work permit

Featured Replies

The situation: Non B (for teacher) expires end of March, work permit expires in August (due to teacher license renewal).

Now the new NON B  - to be issued end of March - will expire in August when the work permit expires according to school. New visa required again.

Then the new NON B from August would expire again end of March 2018 with the end of the contract.

My questions: The new work permit will be renewed for one year or expires with end of visa Mach 2018?

If it's renewed for one year then that game will go on forever, two visas per year.

What to do?

Apply for extension of WP after receiving teacher license waiver (good for 2 years) before existing WP expires and just keep doing 90 day reports at immigration ...... I think.
The WP expires with end of contract, as does Non-B extension.

You apparently do not have a valid non-b visa that would require you to leave the country every 90 days.

You are on an extension of stay based upon teaching not a non-b visa. There is not limit on how many of them you can get in a year.

Immigration may extend your extension for one year instead of to the date you work permit expires. The rule is that you only need a valid one on the date you apply you apply for an extension.
