Hello everyone,
A friend of mine (Philippine nationality) is at 3th. month of pregnancy. Currently she is located in Thailand with a 60-day tourist visa (extendable for other 30). She asked me if she can give birth here in Thailand. Her family can support her economically.

I tried to find some rules related to this subject but no success.

Is it possible to get a medical visa for this case?
If yes, can she get this visa at the local Immigration or is she obliged to fly out of Thailand? (I know that some air companies do not allow to fly)

What does it happen after birth?

Thanks in advance

Sergio

She could stay here and give birth to her child. There is no problem with doing that.

Immigration do not issue visas.

She would have to stay on tourist visas until she is close to giving birth and then with a letter from the doctor stating she could not travel immigration would grant an extension for medical treatment.

Calculate 50.000 baht for foreigner giving birth here.
There is no advantages for child or mother after birth.
When they are fit to travel they must leave.

As said birth itself in Thailand provides no citizenship or other rights so there is no attempt to prevent; as there is in Malaysia.
