petertucker48
Just purchased a new Yamaha Nouvo SX125 problem is the wheels are 16 " and have Nylon /rubber tyres. Is it possible to fit 17" wheels so I can also fir Michelin tyres.
digitalbkk
Why change the rims? Michelin Pilot Sports are available in 16" stock size for the Nouvo SX. I have been running them for years on mine. Got mine at Cockpit in Chiang Mai (special order), but do not know in your location.
taichiplanet
i've got Mich Pilot Streets on mine but don't seem to sell those any more; 80/90-16 front and back. Michelin does a City Pro in that size http://www.moto.michelin.co.th/node_12553#s=0 or you can get the Pilot Sporty from 29 Tire http://29tire.com/product-th-1098322-5084402-ยางนอก+Michelin+รุ่น+Pilot+sporty+(ยางดีตัวแนะนำ)+ขอบ+16.html

petertucker48
Looks like 16" no longer made. Can I fit a 17" wheel to front and rear of a new Yamaha Nouvo 125 SX.

They are made. Perhaps the Yamaha shop you went didn't have them. Anyway you shouldn't be going to Yamaha shops as they likely won't keep older stock. You should be going to local tyre shops and there should be many everywhere. Try the link canthai gave you. 29tire is a very good shop. http://29tire.com/product-th-1098322-5084402-ยางนอก+Michelin+รุ่น+Pilot+sporty+(ยางดีตัวแนะนำ)+ขอบ+16.html?lang=en

Cheers Guys. as mentioned best to go to tyre shops that specialise in bike tyres or some of the smaller bike repair shops might be able to order for you. I used this company in Bkk to send me tyres, i think it was about 100 Baht for freight, Khun Pairoj speaks English "Ek Paiboon Yang Yont" (02) 222-7535, (02) 223-4678 https://www.facebook.com/eakpaiboon1962/

Any advice welcome. Really don't like the look of "Nylon and made in Vietnam" on my existing tyres.
