BANGKOK: -- The director of corporate communications of the Dhammakaya temple, Phra Sanitwong Wuthiwangso, turned himself to the police at the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) headquarters in Bangkok to face two charges filed by the Department of Special Investigation (CSD).

Phra Sanitwong who served as the active spokesman of the temple and followers was wanted in an arrest summons by the Criminal Court for  inciting public disturbance under Article 116 of the Criminal Code, and defaming the DSI for posting on his Facebook to create public resistance.

He was immediately escorted to the interrogation room at the CSD where Royal Thai Police deputy commissioner Pol Gen Srivara Rangsiphramanakul was on hand to interrogate.

The defiant monk would be escorted to the Criminal Court for permission to detain him after the interrogation.

Police will also ask the court not to grant him bail.

If he is not granted bail, he must be defrocked before being detained.

Meanwhile  Mrs Sorawan Sirisuntarin or better known as Auntie (Pa) Cheng also surrendered to the DSI at the Border Patrol Police Bureau 1 for questioning as she owned a marketplace where  defiant monks and followers are gathering to intercept authorities in making search for Phra Dhammachayo.

Under the current regime, does anyone have access to legal counsel ?    Seems that the law is being wielded like a weapon without concern for due process.  Not very enticing for the Abbott to turn himself in.  The good general wants everyone to face the courts for breaking the law, but he never will.
