PATTAYA: -- Banglamung district chief Naris Niramaiwong sent his minions into theย night again early Thursday morning when they raided three restaurantsย selling Shisha.

ย

77Jowo said that the three establishments in Soi Cozy Beach and Soiย Yen Sabai were openly flouting the law.

ย

Several foreign nationals were arrested and 50 pipes were seized atย After Beach, Amerah Coffee Shop and Charming Shop.

ย

Allowing shisha smoking and selling shisha tobacco is now illegal inย Thailand following orders from the military government toย

on the habit.

Shisha is tobacco with flavor added nothing more nothing less...ย

Then why is the junta so bent out of shape on this, making it illegal?

Because it is not controlled by the Thai tobacco Company and hence not subject to tax and hence not subject to skimming off and hence never gets in offshore banks for the Elite few.

And the medical research on E-cigarettes is much better.

But this is not about public health, it's about tax money and fine money!!!

I read somewhere on the news that the issue is not the shisha itself but the youth culture around it.

ย

That's what I think he said he wanted to stop.

It is amazing to encounter the 2 tier system ofย Law in Thailand. In Patong we forwarded pictures of openly smoking of Shisha on Roof top Bars and Pools to Police and Patong Municipality and Damrongdhama centre in Phuket Town,ย and no action seems to be taken.ย They keep smoking Shisha and selling Drinks until sun up at the Red Bar in Asia Loop Hostel on Siriraj Road in Patong, Also complaints about excessive noise and singing and screaming all night long at the same Bar had no effect on their operations. Big Screen TV with sports every week are a favorite of Red Bar customers. Welcome to the Land of Smiles.

The LOS army raids these shops and bars that are getting the brown envelops ย to the bib from the owners to show the BIB that they and not the BIB are really in charge here ,Also when ever the army gets involved with any real mission of protecting LOS they usually come out with the short end of the stick.

Thats possibly because the vast majority of the army are so incompetant if the were given anything other than sticks they would shoot themselves in the foot

I thought the topic was about Shisha which is what I responded to!ย  You want to talk about E-Cig lets, Not you might be right about it being about tax money and fine, who really knows but what I do know it is all bad for you nothing but a smoke screen for whatever excuses people who use it want to use.
