Don Muang or Utapao for 30-days visa exempt

Featured Replies

The last time I was in Thailand  August last year. For the last year I had 3 30-days visa exempts.  Now I'm chosing where it's better to take a flight to: to BKK or Pattaya. Although it's impossible to predict, but still some  airports have a reputation where you have no problem getting 30-days visa exempt, whereas in others you're more like to have a problem. Comparing Don Muang and Utapao, which one is better or are they more or less the same in that respect?

some say Don Muang can be difficult, i would think u-tapao is an unknown factor

If you have not done a visa exempt entry since last year you should not have a problem doing the first one this year at either of those airports.

Are you planning to do 3 of them back to back this year.

With a 1-2 months gap travelling in other countries.

It should not be a problem since you would appear to be doing what a tourist does.

It is wise though anytime you do an entry to have the equivalent of 20k baht with you and a onward ticket to show if questioned.
