Cambodia: Acid attacker snatches bag

Police are hunting a man who threw acid in a woman’s face and snatched her bag as she was cycling in Phnom Penh. Por Senchey district police chief Yem Saran said the attacker’s identity was not yet known.
 

The victim, Sorn Chanti, 23, was helped by people nearby and sent to hospital. “It’s difficult for us because the victim seemed to not want to cooperate with the police,” Mr. Saran said.
 

“Sometimes she says this and next she says that, which makes it hard for us to resolve this case,” he said. “The doctor said the victim was only slightly injured because the acid was not strong and she was sent home from hospital.
