Police and insurers team up to keep traffic flowing after crash

True, but I still think the police should be called for anything except a fender bender. If a Thai and a Farang get into an accident, who do you think will be left holding the bag. Pictures might be worth a thousand words. But the word of a Thai will always "trump" the Farang.

Nonsense.

What they are referring  to here  is not major accidents but what we in the U.S. call "fender bender" accidents with only minor damage to both vehicles and no injuries.

Such accidents can be resolved with exchange of names and perhaps a photo.

that is of course assuming both vehicles are insured and have collision insurance, which may not be true in Thailand.

Ban all cars older than 10 years from entering the city.ban polluting old diesel trucks cars.make more bts lines.

Worst offenders would be the old buses but it doesn't look likely that they will be replaced any time soon. The new ones seem doomed to the same fate as the new fire engines

Talking about, the traffic in BKK....don't care about some back roads

Bought a new bike. No plate for weeks. Legal to drive without one with paperwork from the dealer.  I have never seen a red plate on a MC.

Google red plate on motorbike or car..valid for 1 month

or 3K KM.  After that a B10000 fine...I would get a red

plate from the dealer.

I am not saying you are not right.  I have my permanent plate now. But, I personally have never seen a MC with a red plate.

If I hadn't been living here for a while, I'd think this is a joke. So let me get this straight. Someone causes a crash and kills the other driver. All he has to do is pretend to take a photo with no intention of ever presenting it to the police, and then leaves the scene.

At least with the old way, the driver got some exercise running away from the crash scene. Now he can just drive away without leaving the car behind, which at least gave the police a clue who owned the vehicle. I can see why the insurance companies love this. They only have to pay out for the dead driver. They don't pay off for the other driver if the crash is never reported.

As a tongue-in-cheek comment, well done, if it was posted as a serious comment- think you need a reality check.

perhaps police should fine people for stopping to look at accidents too, its funny how even oncoming traffic from the opposite side of the accident always slow to a crawl too just because a lot of people turn their head to check out the accident scene as well.
