Teacher surrenders for allegedly strangling her tomboy partner

A female teacher turned herself in to police at midnight on Sunday after she allegedly strangled her tomboy partner in a fit of jealousy, police said on Monday.

After her surrender, police took Chanpen Chartkulwanit, 30, to re-enact her alleged killing of partner Chanasnon Thongbamrung, 25, in Chiang Mai.

Chanpen told police she was a teacher for temporary hire in Mae Hong Son. She travelled to Chiang Mai on Sunday to take an exam to become a public school teacher and stayed with her long-time partner, Chanasnon.

But she quarrelled with Chanasnon out of suspicion that her partner had a relationship with another woman.

During the quarrel at 10pm, she jumped on Chanasnon and used her hands to strangle her. She said she did not initially know her partner had died when she stopped struggling.

When Chanpen realised that Chanasnon had died, she left the house to consult a friend and turned herself in at midnight.

When you strangle someone and they stop struggling, what conclusions are you supposed to draw, other than that they are dead?

That suddenly, while fighting for her life, she decided to take a quick nap? Got a high reading on the BS meter for that excuse.

What does it matter what she thought (maybe she's not as bright as you), she turned herself in, didn't she?

I guess the murderer thinks that this is all so unfair and just one big misunderstanding. Who'd have thunk cutting off someone's air supply would kill them? Certainly not an educator.

Can she just be on her way, as she's got to go and teach some young children about virtues and morals.

It wasn't premeditated murder, and I doubt she actually intended to kill, probably wasn't thinking anything rational at the time...  tragic anyway.

Great role model for the next generation

Fair enough let her off with a slap on the wrist.

I'm sure her next victim girlfriend doesn't need it know about it either.

Not thinking rationally and didný mean to kill as well as being not so bright and turning themselfs in. The question is what does that matter!?
When somebody stop fighting, stop breathing and turns blue in the face? I wonder how many people there is out there that doesn´t believe that somebody is dying or already dead?
Just another day in the slaugther house of the blown up minds that hit the tabloids of this country every day!

Yes, it really does matter. Bright? That´s just common sense, dude!

Google "unconscious"

Uncontrollable emotions/anger/rage. I think it's genetic with Thais.

Really? How does it matter?

And you really mean that I should try and explain that to you. 2000 words later, and still explaining. Just pass that one. Would like to do more things before my time on earth is over. Cheers!

I don't think that you should have to do anything, neither did I say that, but if you post comments don't be surprised if you get responses.   You don't have to explain anything but you seem to think that you have explained things with "2000 words" already.  If you have better things to do don't respond!

Thai's are certainly vulnerable when it comes to matters of the heart, especially when losing face comes into the equation.  It seems they rarely stop to think of the consequences of their actions until the damage is done.  This time the woman handed herself into the police which shows she has more balls than the usual Thai man who will just run away.

Thanks for the over intelligent response, once again! Advise for you. If you don´t want responses, just take away the question marks.

And, nope! I did never say that I´ve explained anything with 200 words already. Just metioned it was not an amount of words possible to try making an explaination you are able to grasp.
Now when that is out of the air, how do you feel about stopping this conversation that leads nowhere fast?

Happy to stop as soon as you stop bringing up further points that need to be shot down.

I, clearly, don't need any advice from you; I'm glad to get responses, I never said that I didn't want replies so I'll put questions and question marks wherever I want.
