March 22, 20179 yr I'm a dual citizen (Thai and country X) and I barely live in Thailand. I'm currently working a dream job in country Y. If I come back to chance it during the conscription day and draw a red card, how <deleted> am I? I'm already living a good life in country Y. I also have many reasons for not wanting to be in the army camp for two years, especially for the first ten weeks. Any advice or similar experiences are very appreciated.
March 23, 20179 yr IMO citizenship has responsibilities and obligations. If you don't want to fulfill those then you shouldn't hold that citizenship.
March 25, 20179 yr If you have a Thai ID card or Passport you are eligible to be conscripted. Unless you never come back to Thailand.
March 25, 20179 yr It is however possible to enter as a citizen of country "y" do all correct visa and border runs, reporting etc until you age out of service requirements. check with a lawyer it may be only 26 yr old. The army doesn't want people old enough to think, and question orders

I heard that for Thais who escape the service, the police will be waiting for them at the immigration service.
