90 day visa

Featured Replies

My plan is to enter Thailand on a 30 day tourist visa than off to Pa Nang and return with a 90 day tourist visa.  Do I have to get the 90 day at the Thai embassy before I return to Thailand or is it automatic when I return?  Pls advise and thanks.

There is no 30 day tourist visa. I assume you mean a 30 day visa exempt entry. A 30 day visa exempt entry can be extended for 30 days at an immigration office for a fee of 1900 baht.

You have to apply at a Thai embassy or consulate for a tourist visa that will allow a 60 day entry that can be extended for 30 days at immigration.

You can apply for a single entry tourist visa at the consulate in Penang Malaysia.

A single entry tourist visa is "valid" for 90 days. This means that it can be used for a single entry into Thailand at any time within 90 days after the visa is issued. The actual stay you receive on entry into Thailand is 60 days,  though it is possible to extend this by a further 30 days at an immigration office in Thailand on payment of 1,900 baht.

If planning to get a tourist visa in Penang, ensure you understand the requirements which have recently changed.

I hate to be a pedant, but they are valid for 3 months, not 90 days.

Luckily, Jan, Feb & March have 90 days, unless a leap year.

I would consider that bad luck because, in most cases, the visa will be valid for 91 or 92 days.

Regardless of whether it works out as 90, 91 or 92 days the visa is valid for 3 months from the date it's issued.
