I haven't purchased or used it in Thailand, but Netafim smart drip systems are the state of the art here in California.

I realize that.  But when you put it up for forum discussion it becomes 'not just about you'.  I participate because as well as sharing my experience, I learn from replies and discussions.  When I saw your question I thought, poor sucker is just going to get info on antiquated systems with point emitters that cause many problems that I see with inadequate root zone irrigation coverage and poor placement next to root collars and enhanced collar rot.

So I was happy to see the inquiry because it encouraged me to do something I have been meaning to do, to see if Netafim was available in Thailand.  I want to use it myself at my home there and wasn't sure if I needed to ship some to myself or not.  The fact that there is a distributor in Bangkok was encouraging so I posted it,  hoping that others would see it and discuss their experience if any.  Or that you would be smart enough to follow up on the lead and take it another step, contact them and inquire about a local source and support, then post it for others to learn from your experience. Or am I dreaming, of a perfect world of cooperation.

Netafim perforated tubing is a superior system in my opinion, like soaker hose with sophisticated circuitry, pressure regulation and more uniform delivery throughout the root zone than older generation drip emitters. Check it out.

Hello All, what crop/s are you going to grow? How big an area?

What's your water source?

I've gotten my tape from BKK and locally here in Korat.

I've also got fittings local and BKK, Netafim and Super Products,

and the parts were sent EMS. There is more stuff at DoHome

and Global House now as more are using drip irrigation.

From my growing 20 X 50M to 2rai plots, I've used 1" LDPE from

the pump and also as the supply to the tapes. Use a hand punch

to put a hole for the tape connector. On the 2 rai I needed a bigger

1" pump that I had, so I had to water half, then the other half.

I pumped from a bore to a 2,000L tank, with a inline screen filter.

Then from the tank to the pump and through venturi injector on to

a 1" disk filter then on to the drip tapes.

I've used Naan DanJain, Netafim and Euro Drip tapes, different

emitter spacings and flow rates, depends on the crop/amount of

water needed to put down and where. I used 20 and 30cm in non

patty soil. Now I will be growing on patty land and will be pumping

from a river/lake/mud hole depending on the season, so will need

to redo my filters.(add more)

here's some pic's of the 1.5/2 rai over 2 seasons and the injector.

To keep your system up, filter/filter/filter!!! It's all about the water

supply.

I like the Netafim blue lock ring tape fittings for attaching the tape

and their end cap as I put stakes around the 1" LDPE supply and a

stale through the end cap to keep the tape stretched and several

along the length of the tape so it doesn't blow or roll off the bed.

The tape will also expand in the heat. Super Products also sells

some Netafims tapes/fittings. Don't forget a flow control valve.

I for one always enjoy reading your posts drtreelove. Always informative, to the point and relevant/useful. Keep up the good work!

Kinda looking for Thai available products and experience..

Cheers

Hello All, a good place to find ag related chems, films, seed,
and irrigation parts and things is look in this Thai Ag Magazine.
Most all the main Co'a have adds, should be able to find at a
mag stand, book shop or supper market where I've fot mine
for the past 16++ years.
The pump on the L, will do 2 rai of flat land at one time of 16mm
tape. The one on the R won't, maybe 3/4 max.
When all else fails, I found this Co. also in a add in the mag long
ago, this is a pic of a page out of their O/L catalog, Super Products.
www.superproducts.co.th/  The Eng. link doesn't work, but the
Thai down load pdr catalog is like the page I made the pic of below.

Dr. Tree, I saw the address you posted for Netafim, I didn't know
that they had moved from the Mary K Building. They use to have
a very limited verity of the overall product line. You could special
order, but took a while for them to fill an order, came by boat. several
months. But they are good in EMS'ing out parts with the usual pay to
their B/A and @ copy of receipt Thai stile.
Another Co is Nann Dan Jain, the first drip tape I used.

Thanks for the replies guys, all very helpful...

I have decided to go with sprinkler system rather than tape.

It wasn't for crops but I have one 100m long tree line running down 1 border, so thought tape might be better ! The rest of the 2.5 rai is mostly grass with a selection of trees.

Anyway, going to give it a go with sprinklers and see what coverage and results I get.

Thanks
