Civil-State commission discusses attracting investors for Thailand 4.0

BANGKOK, 24 MARCH 2017 (NNT) – The government prepared to amend and revamp laws and mechanisms to attract more investors and analysts to the country as part of the Thailand 4.0 agenda.

At a meeting of the Civil-State Commission chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Kreau-ngam, the Cabinet official was briefed on the Quick Wins program, a project to attract more investors and analysts to Thailand by easing their immigration.

The program is part of the Thailand 4.0 agenda and is seeking to create further types of visas that are specific to laborers and members of the industrial sector. Quick Wins will also add an electronic reporting system to allow investors and analysts to bypass having to seek visas in person.

The commission also announced progress in its city planning adjustments, which include work to allow industrial buildings to do with agricultural be set up near farming sites for easy access to raw materials.

Before concluding, the commission reviewed changes to how EIA and EHIA assessments are to be conducted once the new constitution takes effect. The new charter intends for environmental and health assessments to be more streamlined in the future.

If they just acted normally like their neighbors, Thailand would not have problems attracting investment.  Majority of the time when the junta opens mouth, it is cause for concern for the country's future.
