Thai Meteorological Dept issues more summer storm warnings

More summer storms warning

BANGKOK: -- The Meteorological Department today issued warning of more summer storms in many parts of the country over the next 24 hours as overall temperature in these areas remain hot to extreme hot.

It mentioned the country’s northern, lower northeastern, eastern and central regions as areas where summer storms are to hit.

People living in these areas are advised to keep off staying in open areas, under big trees, and huge advertising signboards during thunderstorms during March 27-29.

The summer storms warning came as high pressure front from China has blanketed the country’s upper region and  South China Sea where summer heat is still in the areas, while westerly wind waves from Myanmar are blowing in to cover the northern and northeastern regions.

Finally a weather prediction today, after a full night / morning of rain and thunder in Bangkok.

Still zero sign of rain in Chiang Mai but the weather system has brought the temp down slights and there's enough breeze around to blow away the smoke so hope it last.

Easy to forcast your own weather now, just look at the radar, when you are wrong can only blame yourself! http://weather.tmd.go.th/lmpLoop.php

There is a bit of rain around CM, not a lot right now though, so my forecast is "maybe" 85% chance of not!

There's exactly one cloud in the entire sky as I type this. Your idea of "around Chiang Mai" with that link includes nearly Chiang Rai and south past Lampang. There isn't a drop anywhere even remotely close to Meuang Chiang Mai at all, not one drop.

Depends on what "scale" your brain works on! so are you raising my 85% chance of no rain? :shock1:

I don't live near CM so don't look at that chart...

7::33pm. I'll double your bet.

doesn't look the same as this map. Real time  http://www.sattmet.tmd.go.th/satmet/mergesat.html

Have  had  significant  daily rain  here   for the last 6  days. Today clear  and  humidity drop. Hope it lasts. Need  to  turn  rice fields without tractor  getting  submerged! But  many locals say it is  a typical  false start to the  rain season. They  my  be right  but I  will be  be prepared  either way. ( I  hope)..

Nice  to see te  rapid  change from  brown to  green anyway.

To all my loyal readers who have logged in for another uncannily accurate weather forecast - good morning.

Those in the CM area will probable be  better served carrying a face mask today rather than an umbrella, 98% chance of no rain today. :shock1:

The breeze is keeping Doi Suthep area smoke free,

Thunder and Lightning at Future Park Rangsit. Got a recent radar image. Looks like the whole of Bangkok is going to get wet.

Bucketing down.

Massive thunder and lightening.
