UDON THANI: -- Police yesterday raided a shop and warehouse in downtown Udon Thani where they discovered 10 million baht worth of illegally imported audio merchandise.

Acting on a warrant from the local court Region 4 police, a lawyer and a company representative from France seized the goods with brand names such as JBL, DBX and Shure, reported Sanook.

The premises were on the Udorn Dusadee Road in Muang district.

The products - 950 items in all - were believed headed for Bangkok and had been imported from China.

One arrest was made though no one was named in the Sanook article.

In which market can I find them tomorrow ?

Illegally imported ?  Certainly not carried on someone's back...

So who got the illegal importation money ?

I wonder if they were fake?

I wonder if these buffoons will do the legwork to find where and who helped them get all these imports into the country...

Its a pity that an international company has to do this as they cannot rely on the country of Thailand or its people in power to control this type of situation

Roll on the medium-speed heavy-freight Chinese railway, so these goods don't have to be moved (smuggled ?) piecemeal across the border, a threat (as well as an opportunity) to all local manufacturers & agricultural-producers.

Or do the authorities here believe, that they'll still be in-control, if so then this small example shows the reality of cross-border trade where cheaper goods can flow.

Rice or booze or ciggies, plus a whole load of other things, this is the reality of global world trade.

They must have meant: "Fake audio merchandise !!!"

Why else would there be 4 police, a lawyer and a company representative from France ??? It must have been fake !!!
