Motorcyclist farewell friend at temple funeral - but Thais online turn on the parents for allowing it to happen.

BANGKOK:-- Netizens have turned on the parents of a dead motorcyclist for allowing friends in his gang to turn up with their bikes at his funeral.

Dozens of bikes all revving their souped up engines turned up at the Bangkok temple funeral to say goodbye. But instead of parking outside they drove into the temple grounds and encircled the crematorium where the body of their friend was lying.

And among the friends on motorbikes were novice monks in robes.

Daily News said that Thais online were incredulous that monks at the temple had allowed such a thing.

But they reserved their best vitriol for the parents of the teen who had died for permitting his friends to do this saying it was disgraceful to allow the "dregs of society" into the temple like this.

Daily News reported that the funeral was held earlier in the week at a temple in Prayasuren Road, Bang Chan, Bangkok.

In today's Thailand, it appears to be par for the course.

So, which of those valiant young men won the heart of SuperGirl™? :coffee1:

Must be the monk, due of having a full time job and a steady income stream.

That's news to me! Bikers (good or bad) are not allowed to grieve?

Bikie gang.  A bit over the top, those arent bikes any self respecting biker would admit riding.  Anyway the deceased would probably love the send off but they should have cleared it with the parents out of respect 1st.

What a load of rubbish...Must one come by foot, car, horse drawn carriage, elephant....

No doubt, that is their only mode of transport for most of them...

Had to ride bikes three times around the Stupa 'cos they could not walk that far!!!!

The people riding these motorbikes are nothing but morons with these "sooped up" engines, they should all have their bikes confiscated.

these are the same idiots that are racing on the roads putting others lives at risk, why any parent would want the fact that their son was one of these morons shown at his funeral is beyond most people but then many thais think that their kids breaking the law is a good thing and they even encourage then brag about it on facebook, cant help stupid.

Quietly park the bikes don't throttle em.

Yes, And the par for the LOS course is stupid.

I see nothing wrong with it. Respect the guys interests i say.

Ive had friends with harley groups carry in coffins on a trike as part of a parade, motocross displays and trials demos and such.

These thai bikes arent typically motorcycles even if stroked out 20mm, mod cased monster bore, oversize valved heads and such but its still a passion to this guy and his friends, still 2wheels.... Seems honarble but probably could be done a little better but who could expect anything more really.

Its disraspectful to stereotype about being the dregz of society. How does that help these young guys.

Of course, TV's grail-keepers are out in droves! "Get of my lawn, kids!"
If the temple allowed it ,all is fine with me!
Back in the old country, no one would even find this worth commenting!
But the oh-so-buddhist neitizens and the thai'er- than-thai- brigade of course have to bemoan the fall of the beautiful and superior Thai- culture!
