NCPO hits back at Thaksin over FB post

The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) on Saturday rebuked Thaksin Shinawatra for his latest Facebook post yesterday, and said the former premier should refrain from crying foul and distorting facts.

In his latest Facebook post, Thaksin expressed his frustrations at being blamed or linked to major bad incidents that have occurred in the country, including the explosions in front of the Erawan Shrine as well as bombings in the far South.

His family, he said, was also being targeted, referring to the ongoing attempt to collect tax on Shin shares that were sold more than a decade ago.

This was the first major reaction from Thaksin after two years of silence.

Thaksin insisted on his loyalty to the monarchy, and said coups were dangerous for the country.

Colonel Piyapong Klinpan, spokesperson for the NCPO, said Thaksin’s post may have stemmed from his feelings of home-sickness. If the former prime minister wishes to see the country make progress, he should stop hurting it and distorting facts.

Piyapong said, instead, Thaksin should come back and go through the legal process.

I think your post could do with a few grammatical tweaks :)

The land of butt hurt.

If I were Thaksin, I wouldn't return here either.  Then again, the Junta doesn't really want him to return.  If he did, and started talking, they would soil their uniforms.  Little doubt a mysterious sniper's bullet would find its way.

Thaksin, the never ending story.
Doesn't have the NCPO and the Junta government have more important tasks to do?
Buying the overpriced and superflu submarines?
Emptying the state tresory while they are in charge?
Investing in a High Speed train that never will come to Thailand?
Cleaning up their own mess they are making?
Ony naming a few things that seems to be of highter priority as hunting the Thaksin family.

Thaksin was the NCPO major task. Remember the rallying cry by the people who set up the coup. Get rid of Thaksin regime and the NCPO obliged diligently with the full might of immunity and article 44.

Seeing as how Thaksin was making every effort to contrive a total amnesty for himself, that Krungthai fraud where others have been convicted and jailed for 18 years must worry him a bit. He was also trying to install his family, clan and cronies into all key positions in all areas needed to cement their place at the trough and ensure they could never be removed. Copying his "mentor" the late Mr. Lee and his eternal friend, the ruthless former terrorist Mr. Sen.

Amazing that some posters still want to believe he was a benevolent democrat.

If you think he's given up then your're very wrong.

Wonder how many FB friends he's got?

A lot more than he has on here.

Plus a lot more we can not talk about

The ptb simply can't help themselves, he is the elephant in the room, the arch nemesis and they continually get baited by him and keeping him up there in the limelight.

He may well come back, but more likely to be on his own terms.

Doesn't leave him much else to do, as those two things are basically his only approach to any situation

Only a moron would come back to face a legal system utterly controlled by their enemies.

Like him or not, Uncle T has more than his fair share of grey matter.

I have not seen any posters who believe that...

OTOH, he came to the PM-ship through popular elections which is more than the current occupant can say.

Thaksin returning to Thailand would bring with him so much baggage, which IMO, the junta could not manage, if it all came to light.

Anyway, he'll never return...in fact he wouldn't make it to the bottom of the stairs.

But.....it would be good for the country if he did return........sadly, it ain't gonna happen!

The answer to all arguments. Whining about someone's spelling or punctuation. Aren't you the clever teacher. Thank you for giving everyone such a worthwhile English lesson. we all wish we were so articulate and accurate in our comments/criticisms of OPs. 'Thankee, zur, thankee, M'lud.
