The US government has pulled any future funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), a group focused on reproductive rights for women and girls, over claims it has practiced coercive abortions and involuntary sterilizations in China. In a letter issued by the US State Department on Monday, US Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman Bob Corker said it was dropping the funding because the UNFPA “supports, or participates in the management of, a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.”
 

UNFPA, which works closely with the Cambodian government and local NGOs, released a statement yesterday labeling the claims as erroneous. “UNFPA refutes this claim, as all of its work promotes the human rights of individuals and couples to make their own decisions, free of coercion or discrimination,” the statement said.
 

“The support we received over the years from the government and people of the United States has saved tens of thousands of mothers from preventable deaths and disabilities.” In a January draft executive order to cut UN funding, the Trump administration singled out the UNFPA and included a provision on US funding for organizations that support coercive abortion or sterilization services.

No surprise over this from the Trump camp.  Got to get rid of these people as soon as possible and get these stupid decisions reversed.

JUst continues to be unbelievable. Trump and his minions are completely destroying American values and making America look vindictive and out of touch. I still can't believe Americans voted for this man. On the other hand I can- he lied his way all the way to the presidency offering desperate Americans hope they would get high paid jobs. 

The day this man and his minions are gone- Americans will have won the lottery.

Ivanka's first act in her new role of empowering women?.....par for the course innit.

Easy to fact check but seems alt-right sources are Trump's main source for policies. Trump could have also checked with the State Department but why be bothered with an opposing yet factual opinion.

You're backing your claim with a letter written by the accused. That's a little like "Fact-Checking" Charles Manson by asking him if he did it.
