Is "Beerlao" such a bad word that all the threads relating to it must be closed?

"Beerlao", "Beerlao" :o

Thanks folks

As the little doggie who has been stompted on by the MODS & Rockers I will obviously go back into the POO bin if I ask the question which started/stopped the "beerlao" thread.

This is what I asked

Why is it wrong (I know it is against the rules) to promote beerloa, best steak house, best tailor, best!!!etc yet it is ok to make defamotary remarks (also against the rules) about Red Lion/O'Malleys. Please explain.

If this thread is allowed to continue (which it won't) I will explain further.

By the way trying to explain what the OED defines a "FORUM" as is apparently not relevant to the rockers

The problem is not discussing Beer Lao, and nobody ever said it was, except for one or two members who did not read my explanation properly.

It is fine to discuss products in the forum, but it is not ok with unbiased commercial plugs.

I tried to explain to the reason behind the rules, but somebody chose to read it somewhat like the devil reads the bible.

The thread was turning into a discussion about the rules, which is not allowed. So it was closed. There is the reason. Nothing to do with beer brands.

Chang :o, Singha, Beer Lao, Heineken, Carlsberg. Pilsner URQUELL. :D

Keep discussing whatever and wherever you like in a reasonable manner, and it will not be a problem. Also, dont be too surprised if a Mod tells you off for breaking the rules. It is kind of what we're here for. Well, that and the huge salary and bundles of thanks we get from all the members, of course.

Cheers :D

Well I think beer lao is way ahead of all the other beers..................I have no commercial interest in this beer what so ever, I just happen to know where you can buy it and who sells it. But I would like to see it more readily available.

Does not give me a raging hangover like Thai beers.

Is it ok to say this :o

Meadesh has posted the following on the Red lion thread so I hope it is OK for me to copy this here "Ok, I'll say it again to make sure the point comes through: If you have the info to state where it can be bought, feel free"

I have replied

"Thanks Meadesh I am glad to see that common sense is prevailing! The contact for beer Lao is Panpaporn on 0860954417 at 895 a crate. Since this is the Red Lion/Omalley thread can we reopen the Beer Lao availability thread and put this info there. I am not being cheecky or funny, I just think it would make more sense for those not involved in the recent Beer Lao "discussions". "

We seem to have arrived at a clean ending to this "discussion" Thanks all

Beerlao threads have been reopened. Contact me if you want more info on where to buy. You currently can buy it at The UN Irish Pub, Spicy, Foxy Lady, and a few bars on Loi Kroh.

Good grief you do get about :o

I think there may have been fewer posts when the government was overthrown.

Governments come and go whilst beer is for ever :D .... well at least until the bottle is empty and then you can always have another bottle without offending the last one unlike governments :o

Chairman of the Board, Singha Industries

I never knew that the G stood for Grant.

I like to think that is in tribute to the greatness that is I :D

Actually, I can't remember what it stood for. It was just going to be Ulysses because I was looking for something bookish, but I added the G for some reason.

Might be George? :D
