Drunk farmer kills his wife for refusing sex

Featured Replies

A farmer was arrested yesterday for choking his wife to death after she refused to have sex with him.   He was identified as Hong Hath, 49, and the victim as Koy Phly, 48. They lived together in Lobeuk Prey village in Siem Reap’s Kralanh district.

Kong Bunlim, the chief of Kralanh district police, said the man had been out drinking rice wine with his friends on Tuesday night. He arrived home at about midnight and woke his wife up, asking for sex. She refused, saying she was sick. He then attempted to rape her unsuccessfully and became enraged.

“He got drunk and was angry with the victim for not having sex with him. He then beat and strangled her,” Mr. Bunlim said. “After the killing he fled from the house but was later arrested by local police.”
