Leaving Thailand after 5 days after 90 days deadline

Featured Replies

Hi,

As I saw some post in the forum there's a 7 days grace period after the deadline,  my 90 days reporting is due on 22nd April and I was wondering whether do I need to make a trip to immigration since I'm leaving Thailand on the 28th April?

Will I need to pay a fine at the airport immigration since it's over the deadline but within the grace period? Has anyone here with any recent experience?

Thank you all for any replies.

You do not need to pay a fine at the airport because the airport does not care about 90-days reporting.

If you intend to come back, and you make another 90-days report, and immigration notice on the computerised record that your previously due report is missing then they will fine you 2000B.

Every time you stay in Thailand 90 consecutive days a 90-days report becomes due by law. The "grace period" is time they give you within which to fulfil that obligation. It is NOT a period within which you are allowed to leave without doing it. It isn't called a "90-95 day report"!

Think of it as a bill becoming due that you a given a grace period of 7 days to pay. Not paying in that 7 day period doesn't make the bill go away.

Thank you  Partington! May I ask one last question, would you happen to know if I can do it at Chamchuree square as mine is a BOI visa?

I don't know what a BOI visa is and don't have any idea about Chamchuree Square, sorry!

Generally you are expected to do 90 day reports at the immigration office that issues you an extension of stay or that serves your current residential address.

Moved to Thai visas forum where similar q. surface from time to time.

I have not seen a post/thread that someone has actually been fined after returning and doing next 90 day report.

You can do your 90 day report there if working for a company with BOI privileges.

I called Chamchuri today and the officer told me I should do my reporting in Phuket which the BOI visa extension was issued. The funny part was Phuket immigration asked me to contact Bangkok immigration.

Anyway, I'm going to Big C Ratburana to do the reporting, will update the outcome.

Thank you guys for the replies!

They are correct. You must do your 90 day reports where you extension of stay was  issued unless you do a formal change of address to another office where you want to report.

You failed to mention your extension was done in Phuket.

Sorry for the oversight ubonjoe. Just came back from Big C Ratburana, no issues as I submitted a new address in Bangkok. Except for the additional form for foreigners to fill in their particulars again, emergency contact and your social profile(optional). The 2 forms took the most time to fill in and the officer took like 3 minutes to gave me back my receipt.
