Planning a trip with Thai registered MC from Thailand to Laos and Vietnam and return.

Is it possible to take the Motorcycle to Vietnam?

I read about​ a process either at the Vietnam embassy or a travel agency to issue some document that allows you to enter Vietnam with your own vehicle for tourism purposes.
