Storm damages 100 houses in Mukdahan
By The Nation

MUKDAHAN: -- A thunderstorm hit the Kham Cha-ie district of Mukdahan province on Tuesday evening, damaging some 100 houses in three tambon, the district chief said on Wednesday.

Kham Cha-ie district chief Pornchai Phudson said the storm hit at around 6.30pm and lasted about 20 minutes.

He said he had coordinated with the Mukdahan-based 24th Army development base, local administrations, tambon and village chiefs to survey the damage. Some 100 houses were found to have been damaged by the storm.

He said two villagers were injured after a tree fell on their house and one village suffered a blackout because power cables were broken by a toppled tree. Some houses had their roof blown away by the strong winds, he added.

This is where we live and I must say that the storm was a beauty. Scared the living daylights out of my sons! Best one I have ever seen. The lightning was incredible and the thunder deafening. I do hope that we don't have another though!
