What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?
I guess it depends what you consider the bar scene. A place that simply serves alcohol w/food, or also serves P4P. After living here, I've met a few lasses in bars, and never paid for their company. But they were Thai themed bars, clubs, not geared toward tourist/expat market or adult entertainment venues, where one would go specifically for P4P. A few gals I met in normal settings, not prowling the bars. At the markets, or service reps while going about everyday living, and no different than living and meeting like minded ladies in the USA. Obviously if living on P4P, need to be in tourist area, or larger metro, that has areas that cater to that market. Obvious choices, Bkk, Patts, Phuket. Udon Thani has an area for. Would guess CM and Hua Hin also have, though a bit low key. Khon Kaen probably still has. Though any area, Hua Hin and north of, you may have to deal with 4-6 months of very unhealthy air pollution. -

LTR Visa is Now available for Long Term Residency
well, based on what I read about in the revenue dept English was that the tax exemption on foreign income could be challenged/dropped if the Director General of the Revenu Department so decided. But, since this is an integral part of a visa designed to get wealthier foreigners to come and stay longer in Thailand, thus spend more money, I think they might decide to keep it at least for the foreseeable future. I personally am not worried about that aspect of the visa as the DTA also exempts my pension but I also do like the no 90-day reporting, in and outs of the country, and is certainly less paperwork required qualifications. Can do all at home on a computer! much easier and based on the yearly cost of a what I had retirement O, a tad cheaper. 1900+3800 per year more than the 50,000 for the LTR. So, perfect for me but I also realize that it may not be perfect for all and do not wish the DIRGEN to drop that royal exemption, but, TIT. -

Ideas for a low speed room fan?
I can tell you what not to do… I have large 54” ceiling fans in all the bedrooms and bathrooms on remote control modules I bought the remotes from AliExpress. The modules are in the roof void. They have 3 speeds and a timer 1,2,4 or 8 hours. Gradually the low and medium speeds have failed so they only work on high. I don’t want to cut the roof to repair them. The bathroom ones are fine on high, you set them for 1 or 2 hours after showering and the room and towels are dried for you. -

Presumably the Russian bot who sent you the link told you that the link was for multiple polls, as I am sure you wouldn't lie about it. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationwide_opinion_polling_for_the_2016_United_States_presidential_election These are the final polls for the 2016 election. Most showed Clinton ahead by 3 or 4 points, which was close to the final results. Note that Kamala Harris is now up by 4 or 5 points in most polls. I am trying to prepare you emotionally for the inevitable Trump loss. You will thank me later.
