Chulalongkorn Savings Cooperative ex-president turns himself into the police to face fraud charge

BANGKOK: -- Former president of the Chulalongkorn University Savings Cooperative turned himself into the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) to face fraud charge.

 

The ex-president associate professor Sawat Saengbangpla arrived at the CSD headquarters at 2.00 am to report himself to the police after the Criminal Court issued warrant for his arrest for fraud following complaints by colleagues and university lecturers and personnel that he deceived them into investment in lottery quota involving more than 500 million baht.

 

They were promised of 10% dividends per year from investment.

 

He was immediately questioned by CSD police until late this morning.
