sandemara
You don't need interpreters to botch important basic points in messages in any media. The one I cherish most as a high point in sub-editing folklore came from a leading London newspaper (front page headline) during WW:2: "Allies push bottles up German troops". The infamous incident was never investigated by the International crimes court after someone realised the major crime involved had been omission of an apostrophe of possession at the end of the first word in the heading , rather than mutilation of surrendering enemy troops. Retreating from the Germans in France and the evacuation of 330,000 Allied troupes with the UK having 68,000 killed wounded or captured. The UK leaving behind 63,000 vehicles and 2,500 field. Actually, I think the civilian response WAS one of Britain's finest hours.
