Pathum Thani cyclist, 58, killed by ‘speeding’ car

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A 58-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a university student’s allegedly speeding luxury car in Pathum Thani on Friday morning. There was no immediate report of any charges being laid.

Police said the accident occurred at 7.30am in front of Rajamangala Thanyaburi University in Thanyaburi district.

They said the impact of the collision broke the windshield of the BMW that struck Patthamawadee Prammaroeng and hurled her to the roadside.

BMW driver Thanadej Maksiri, 23, said he was on his way to the university, where he’s studying for a master’s degree, and did not notice the cyclist in his path.

The woman’s relatives told police she cycled to a local community market every morning to buy food.

You can't have one without the other.

Don't worry charges will be brought against the family of the deceased for the damage to the windshield of the BMW.

Justice will be done.

BMW hits bicycle, so it must be the fault of the "rich guy", right people?

Maybe wait till there is evidence the BMW was speeding, that the bicycle was on the correct side of the road and not swirling around, and that the driver should be blamed for this.

But the judges on TVF already reached their conclusion...

The headline says speeding and the driver says he did not notice the cyclist.

The car being driven was a BMW (hiso)

No charges laid. TIT

Plenty of information to draw a conclusion.

By the look of the photos, it wasn't even a major road. The broken windshield looks as if he was really booking it down the street. Maybe the dude was texting or the rising sun was in his eyes? Poor woman was wearing army clothes and was camoflaged amongst the greenery?

Hope he's studying law or finance. One to get out of jail or the other to make a big pay off.
