I hold an Australian passport and an APEC card which grants 90 day entry on arrival. I am travelling to Laos and am hoping to return to Bangkok by train from from Vientiane  - entering Thailand from the Nong Khai border. 

 

I understand not all entry points in Thailand can recognise an APEC card. Can anyone confirm an APEC card will be recignised at this border??  My other option is to fly Vientiane to Bangkok, but prefer the thrill of an overnight train. 

 

 

The APEC card can be used at all entry points.

Whether the officer will know what it is a could be the problem you would have. If you have a problem ask for a supervisor. But I do think they will know what it is at Nong Khai since it is one of the largest crossings in the country.

If you were stamped in for 30 days you could go to an immigration office to have the error corrected.
