I've just recently had my laptop installed with a new hard drive. The techie

returned it with everything in working order...I thought, until this week I wanted to

copy some music to a cd.

I had a similar problem with my disc drive before which can be read about here;

undefined

So I thought I would follow the same advice as I was given in the thread, but this time it's different. Last time I was told to make sure the 'enable CD recording on this drive' is checked. But with the problem this time there is no 'CD recording tab' available to check.

I'm puzzled as to what it could be, so I thought I would ask here first before calling the techie out again.

Make sure that you have a CD Writer in your laptop. I am not sure, though I think that some cheap techies try to replace hardware.

If everything is fine then you should use the software like Nero.

Hardware = SAMSUNG CDRW/DVD SN-324F

The techie works for an IT Company here on samui, they've repaired and installed many of my friends

computers aswell, with no problems. I've tried WMP and nero with no joy.

I'd go to the Sasmsung support site, get the drivers required and then go through the "Add New Hardware" wizard as if you were installing it all over again. Hopefully it will arrange things properly again.
