Non-B + Non-O (dependent) from Guangzhou for Teaching

Featured Replies

Dear all,

Does anyone have any experience of obtaining single-entry non-B (UK citizen) and/or non-O dependent (Chinese citizen) visas from the Thai consulate in Guangzhou, China?

I am a British citizen and hold a Chinese residence permit for Guangzhou (Guangdong). Wife is Chinese.

The application requirements according to the website seem pretty cumbersome and do not specify the specific documents required for a non-B visa for teaching:

http://www.thaiembassy.org/guangzhou/th/services/940/18976-VISA-|-关于签证与认证.html#3

It even mentions old work permits (I have had one before) and tax documents.

Compare this to the Thai MFA requirements which are a bit clearer:

I'm in Thailand just now and have no desire to run round in circles obtaining additional documents when I go over to Guangzhou, so just wondered if anyone had specific experience with this consulate and any likely additional docs or paperwork they may require. I already have double-legalised Chinese marriage certificates (MFA + Thai consulate Guangzhou). No teaching license required as it's a position at a private university.

There's also the issue of the work permit - it won't be applied for until around early August - will this be an issue for the non-O dependent visa?
