Non O ME Visa (based on marriage) London - Latest updates please

Featured Replies

Good Evening Gents,

Getting everything prepared (a month in advance) for my latest Non O ME Visa (Based on Marriage) at the Thai Embassy in London.

Last year I presented a marriage cert, (plus copy signed by the wife) ID card signed by the wife, Tabian Baan copy (signed by the wife) and of course my passport + copy + form + photos + fee.

Has anything changed? Financial evidence?

Thanks in advance

Nothing has changed. No financial proof is required.

Getting everything prepared? Won't it take all ofabout 5 mins.

Semantics, but I don't think they require the tabian baan copy, they threw it back at me anyway.

It's good to talk.....After many years I still ask Joe just in case.....:stoner:

Got mine in May from the London embassy.  It arrived back in 5 days.  I sent: marriage certificate,  with translation,  copy of my wife's Thai passport and ID card,  my passport, application form plus two photos.  Stamp addressed return envelope,  paid for special delivery.  I did include a copy of a recent DBS,  but it is not a stated reqirement. I sent no financial information.

why send a marriage certificate translation? when my wife and i went to the Thai embassy to renew her passport, all the employees were Thai. Now obviously we were there for a different reason but I was just curious.

A bank in the UK wouldnt change her name on the account  from maiden to married without a translation so we went to another bank and opened the account using the passport in her married name.

I am just wondering if the signed copies have to be originals, i.e signed in ink rather than a photocopy of a signed document??

Thanks Joe - I arrive in London on the 9th August, get a new passport on the 10th August and hope to submit Visa application on the 11th Aug - My question now is because the Thai Embassy is closed on the 14th August (HM Queens Birthday) do you know if they'll let me apply in person and then send the passport with visa back to my address? This would save me another costly night in London

cheers

I am sure they would do it after paying them the fee for the postage to send it to you.

The fee for doing this is £10 if I remember correctly.
