July 14, 20178 yr Youth Orchestra returns after prize-winning Austria trip By The Nation The Thai Youth Orchestra (TYO), which won the outstanding prize from the 11th Summa Cum Laude International Youth Music Festival 2017 in Austria, returned to Thailand on Friday. They received warm congratulations from families and friends as well as officials from the Department of Cultural Promotion which sponsored the trip. The TYO, comprising of 65 youths under 25, impressed the audience with musical pieces including His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej's compositions namely Klai Roong (Near Dawn) and Saeng Duean (Magic Beam), at the Musikverein concert hall in Vienna last Saturday. The late monarch once visited this concert hall in 1964 and gave instruction to Vienna musicians on how to play the songs he composed.
