Hi everyone,

I'm currently on one year visa extension based on marriage and income proof. My visa will end on 18 November and I stopped working last month. I would like to renew it by showing 400 000 bahts on my account.

I would like to know if during the 2 months where the money should be kept if they accept if the amount go few thousands under the limit for few days or if it's a very strict 400 000 threshold.

Also my next 3 months notice is next 12 August, which mean the last notice will be few days before the end of my visa, do I get almost 3 months extension after the end of the visa if noticing few days before? and can I still extend again the visa with 2 months budget proof after the visa expired?

You will need the 400k baht to be in a Thai bank account in your name only for 2 months on the date you apply for the extension.

If it only goes a few baht below 400k baht they can refuse your application.

Your 90 day reports have nothing to do with your permit to stay or extension. It is just a report of staying longer than 90 days in the country. You could do your next report on the same day you apply for the extension. You can do them 15 days before or 7 days after the report date.

Is this a "Visa" or an "Extension of Stay" from an Immigration Office in Thailand?  I am assuming an "Extension of Stay" - but correct me if wrong.

It is strict.

I assume this is your 90-day report?  If so, it has no effect on your permission of stay.  You should do it on-time, even if you plan to leave the country shortly thereafter.

You cannot extend an expired permission-of-stay.  You could go out for a new single-entry, Non-O, 90-day Visa, if you do not meet the qualifications for the 1-year permission of stay when your current permission-of-stay ends.  Then, during the last month of that visa's permission-of-stay, apply for the 1-year extension.  Savanahket or Vientiane would be easy places to get your new Non-O Visa.

Expect the office to be strict and insist that a minimum of 400K is maintained for the full 2 months, however, it is entirely discretionary. If it's a small amount for a few days it is worth asking the office if they'll accept it.

If you need more time to show the full 400K in the bank you could apply for a 60 day extension at the end of your current 1 year extension, and then go for a new 1 year extension at the end of the 60 days.

Your photos need to be clear 3 copies of everything front and back. They gave me a check list and all that seems to be missing is a map of how to get from immigration to your home. It can be hand drawn but you need 3 copies. I have renewed several times now the first time i had a house visit but not again. i forgot this and although you can easily draw 1 i lost my place in the queue and instead of being seen at 9am it was 330pm
