webfact Posted August 10, 2017 Share Posted August 10, 2017 Northeastern flooding expected to subside in one week: PM BANGKOK, 10 August 2017 (NNT) – The flood situation in the northeastern region is expected to subside in a one-week time, said Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. The premier viewed a video clip of a pair of father and son who helped arrange road traffic and cleared out garbage from sewage pipes on a flooded road in front of Kamsoi Pittayasan School in Mukdaharn and pointed out that they set a good example for other people to help each other. He instructed the authorities in all flooded provinces to find out if there may have been any blockade to the sewage system and to clear it up to facilitate the drainage, while the related agencies were bringing the excessive water to Moon River and finally to Mekong River with the use of water pumps. The situation is expected to improve within one week, according to the premier. He also ordered each province to survey for damages after the flooding has subsided and to provide assistance to the flood victims. Here we go, Flood act II The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) has warned at-risk areas in 50 provinces to be on alert for heavy rains.
