Seven Syrian rescue volunteers killed in shooting

BEIRUT (Reuters) - Seven volunteers with the Syrian civil defence rescue service were killed in a shooting by unidentified attackers in rebel-held Idlib province on Saturday, the civil defence said on its Twitter feed.

The attackers stole two vehicles and other equipment in the incident targeting a civil defence office in the town of Sarmin at dawn. Idlib province in northwestern Syria is controlled by Syrian rebels groups.

The civil defence, otherwise known as the "White Helmets", operates in rebel-held areas of Syria.

Odd, the the white helmets seem to work hand in hand with ISIS, so presumably not them, there again more rebel groups there than a "Life of Brian" parody.

Who quote reliable sources in their article, what do you use as a resource, Breitbart?

I watched a brief documentary about the 'White Helmets' in Syria.  It wasn't propaganda, but instead followed some of them, during their daily activity.  They're an exemplary group.  Sacrificing their lives, on call 24-7 on a moment's notice, ....to jump into a car or van and go as fast as possible to help people in need.  Every time a bomb drops in their vicinity, they go charging to the scene to assist as best they can.  Moving rubble, offering first-aid/comfort, taking wounded people to hospitals (if any still exist).  Truly commendable bunch.

People in the region don't seem to have much problem finding a reason to murder, even if it's only for a bit of theft. That actually makes more sense than doing it because they pray in the wrong mosque.

So what are your sources concerning the White Helmets who presumably you do not respect for their efforts in saving lives. Personally I admire their extreme bravery, especially considering the "double tap" practised by the Assad & Russian forces against unarmed civilians / rescuers.
