O-A Long Stay Visa.......

Featured Replies

On arrival in Thailand on an O-A visa, is there any need to report anywhere within a certain time, as when I arrive in Thailand I travel a bit and usually dont get to my address for about a month.  Or does one just report to the nearest immigration office to my address after 90 days?

Also, after 90 days, I will  most probably be in a different province (for New Year) from my address. Can I report to immigration there or does it have to be the province of my address?

Thanks.........

You have to report to the office that deals with the area in which you live.

You can report up to 15 days early or 7 days late.

You can also apply by mail.

There is a process for reporting of a foreigner's address via a "TM-30" form, which is not the same as 90-day reporting.  If you are staying at hotels, they should take care of this for you.

What is needed when you arrive at "your" address, depends on the policies of the immigration-office that serves where you live.  If you live somewhere this is enforced (it is not enforced for the Bangkok / Chang-Wattana office), unless the landlord / mgmt is submitting this form, you should do so at your local immigration office within 24 hours of your arrival or the next day they are open.  But for emphasis - the classes of persons who need to do this, and under what circumstances, are variable by immigration office (and over time at each office), so best to stop in and check.

If you tell us which office serves your address, someone here may be able to let you know what that office has requested recently.

Is online reporting an option?

It's an option to avoid being fined 555.

Joking aside, it's not optional.  I do mine by post, inexpensive and hassle free so far.

For the first time it is best to do your report in person at your local immigration office. Thereafter you can use snail mail or (if it is working) the internet instead.
