When 'Never again' meets 'Never enough'

Female settler activists illegally enter Lebanon, are returned by IDF; no arrests reported

A group of around 10 settlement activists, all young women, illegally crossed the border into Lebanon this afternoon, near the village of Ghajar, according to the military.

The IDF says most of the activists have been located and escorted back to Israel by troops, although the army is still searching for some of them.

They will all be handed over to the police for further questioning. The group belongs to the Uri Tzafon Movement, a Religious Zionist organization that calls for settlement in southern Lebanon, in areas it claims belong to the Jewish people.

Members of Uri Tzafon have illegally crossed into Lebanon multiple times in recent months, while receiving support from coalition lawmakers. None have ever been arrested.

Israeli authorities have rarely filed any charges against these settler activists, despite the repeated illegal infiltrations into Syria, Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank.

The name for the movement, Uri Tzafon, originates in the Song of Songs, Chapter 4, verse 16: "Awake, O North”. The movement's unofficial but heavily repeated motto is "occupation, expulsion, settlement". As of 2026, the movement has become mainstream.

The movement adheres to Religious Zionism. It is often described as a far-right.

In just one month, the WhatsApp forum of the movement managed to gain up to 3,000 members. In this forum, people would discuss future kayaking trips in southern Lebanon, Hebrew names for Lebanese cities, and critiques against the government's policies in Lebanon and Northern Israel, which were often described as "docile”.

The group's public rhetoric has expanded, claiming support to annex territories up to the Zaharani River. Some members with maximalist ideas adhere to the Zionist ideology of Greater Israel spanning from the Nile and to the Euphrates River.

The movement published maps showcasing proposed "Judaized" names for Southern Lebanese towns, with names often inspired by Biblical ones.

I agree. There is absolutely no reason to hate Jews. However, we can hate Israeli terrorism and displacement of Palestinians.

Except in the West Bank...

Israeli settlements in the Israeli-occupied Palestinian territories of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip (former), as well as in the Syrian Golan Heights, are illegal under international law. These settlements are in violation of Article 49 of the Fourth Geneva Convention, and in breach of international declarations.[1][2][3][4][5] In a 2024 advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) relating to the Palestinian territories, the court reaffirmed the illegality of the settlements and called on Israel to end its occupation, cease its settlement activity, and evacuate all its settlers.

I'm genuinely sorry you feel that way, Jing, although I think you're being triggered by something I did not intend. Locusts are much different than cockroaches (I did not know the Nazis called Jews that). Locusts eat everything around themuntil nothing is left for anybody else. It would be hard to disagree that is what Israel is doing. And not only Israel! Israelis are acting with impunity in the West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon because they know they have a vicious, armed bunch of brigands to save them if the siht hits the fan.

Jew haters--don't really care about them, except to know I'm not one. I just believe in justice wherever I see people being violated. I'd be interested in your opinion about the progression of Jewish violence in Palestine up to the present. I believe immigrants Jews lived peaceably with Arabs until 1909 when HaShoMer decided Jews needed defence by violence. The Jewish violence ramped up until the Brits lost their mettle and left.

Every Zionist is saying, "Ach, without the IDF, the Arabs would destroy us." Maybe, but how? Far more likely to be rhetoric than reality. And the Zionists have been pretty forthcoming about getting rid of the Arabs. (Yeah, I'll quote if you wish, but I'm sure you know already.)

I don't think anything Israel is doing serves Israelis or any Jews anywhere. Their disrespect for the basic tenets of Judaism fans those flames of antisemitism. Only one-third of Jews worldwide call themselves anti-Zionist. Zionism is tied in knots. We can believe in a homeland (though, honestly, I'm not sure why anyone should) but, if we do so, then must we believe in the violence perpetrated by Israel when calling it "defence" of that homeland?

Okay, 1948, well-acquainted with that history. The Brits departed, with some, ahem, encouragement from Jewish militias, thus leaving behind a power vacuum. After the UN declaration creating Israel, Arab militias fought Jewish paramilitaries over...land. No question that Egypt, Transjordan (Jordan), Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon started the Arab-Israeli war just before the founding.

Do you, and do Zionists, believe the same geopolitical conditions exist today as in 1948? None of these countries has desire, ability or interest in destroying the State of Israel. In fact, IMO, too few of them have spoken out against Israel not abiding by the terms of the Partition. They have problems of their own, of course.

But every Israel war, skirmish, conflict always results in Israel grabbing a little more, and killing, exiling, displacing Palestinians so each time, they have a little less. From Israelis, no respect, no dignity, no humanity.

Would you live like that?

I'm starting to think Israel will not survive as a nation. The nations in history which became hypermilitarised faded and died. Sparta is a great example and a quick burn but the Roman Empire had a same faults as Israel and had a protracted and ignominious death. No more glory from war.

War seems to be the only reason for the State of Israel. Every citizen is a soldier. There's almost no effective resistance, nobody's trying to change people's minds. Military propaganda is everywhere, from maternity hospitals to banks. I thought about this just this second: Was that what it was like in 1930s-40s Germany? Violence and greed are subsuming everything good about Israel. Jews shine, Jing. You know it and I know it. But Israel can't last this way. They've sinned too much for any god to forgive.

The West Bank must have some money in it. Why else would anybody want to move there? Poor pun, but it seems to be valuable to Israeli expats who don't seem to want to live in Israel anymore.

Further to my thinking about Nazi Germany vs Israel's violence. I have emboldened important similarities and starred my own commentary.

Nazi Germany was a hyper-militarized state. Adolf Hitler rapidly transformed society, the economy, and politics to prepare the nation for aggressive territorial expansion and total war.

  • Rapid Rearmament: Hitler openly defied the Treaty of Versailles by reintroducing conscription in 1935 and expanding the army from 100,000 men to over 1.4 million by the late 1930s.

*[Jews in Palestine were armed by paramilitaries from 1909. Conscription was substantial in Germany, but only 2% as opposed to 100%.]

  • Economy Reoriented for War: German industry was heavily subsidized and redirected to produce tanks, aircraft, warships, and munitions on a massive scale.

*[When Israel is not producing goods of military purpose, it buys or gets gifts of them from other countries. Are there any substantial Israeli non-military exports?]

  • Indoctrination of Youth: Organizations like the Hitler Youth trained boys physically and mentally for future military service, integrating military readiness into daily civilian life.

*[Every Israeli is born to be a soldier. Full stop.]

  • Paramilitary Integration: Organizations like the SA and SS acted as powerful, armed wings of the Nazi party, deeply embedding military command structures across the state.

*[Although no Zionist opposes the IDF, there are groups that help them and, in turn, the IDF defends them. Operating from eastern sectors of Gaza under Israeli military control, small anti-Hamas militias (such as the Popular Forces and the Free Homeland Forces) have stepped up clandestine raids, targeted operations, and deep incursions into Hamas-held territory. These groups receive logistical backing, weapons, and coordination from the Israeli military to counter Hamas's local governance. Radical Israeli colonist groups have intensified outpost establishment and land takeovers, recording over 1,000 violent attacks affecting multiple Palestinian communities across the West Bank in 2026 alone. These extremist "settlers" look like a re-creation of the terrorist Irgun paramilitaries.]

Surely that's not a rEliAblE sOuRce but I'm sure an exception will be magde for you as a jew.

Jews have alsways been trouble makers and thus largely hated - so have been forced into the wandering gypsy lifestyle. You can quibblke about the 109 countries (technically it was 'States' since maps have changed but no other group inspires so much hatred amongst the wider population.

The Gaza Genocide has simply reasserted what is the usual state of affairs and is, historically, par for the course.

Your lot weren't kicked out for being cHosEn by a g0dd none of you believe in or for having big noses - with that in mind, would anyone here be able to explain all these expulsions???

If so, please go for it - alternatively, thumbs down and call names.
