NCPO asks center fielding complaints against state officials to compile periodic reports

BANGKOK, 22 August 2017 (NNT) – The National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) has asked the center fielding complaints against state officials to compile periodic reports and for efforts against water hyacinth to continue.

Deputy Spokesperson to the Royal Thai Army Col Sirichan Ngathong has made known NCPO Secretary-General Gen Chalermchai Sittisat chaired it latest meeting. The general at the meeting called for the newly established center for the reporting of misconduct by state officials to compile periodic reports on the complaints it has fielded as well as the results of efforts set off by the complaints. The center was told to use the reports to update the public on its work and achievements.

Government agencies were similarly told to check with the center for complaints pertaining to their officials and to take swift and definite action in line with NCPO policies and the national strategy.

The NCPO meeting also issued an order to the Peace and Order Maintaining Command to continue the eradication of water hyacinth from waterways, pointing out any lapse in the work could result in more flooding was seen in Lamphun province. The command last week alone collected 20,076 tons of the water weeds from 67 provinces.
