Phones banned in courtroom during reading of Yingluck verdict

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- All communication devices will be banned in the courtroom during Friday’s reading of the verdict in the cases against former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra and officials from her government, Supreme Court officials said on Tuesday.

Anyone wanting to attend the verdict reading – including the defendants, their lawyers, members of the prosecution and media professionals – will be asked to leave their mobile phones and other communication devices with friends or colleagues outside of the courtroom.

If people choose to keep phones on their persons, they will be required to switch off their devices and put them in envelopes provided by court officials. They will not be allowed to use the devices while inside the courtroom.

No phones? Now that will cause a riot.

What, no Facebook for a day? Proceedings will grind to a halt, and the case thrown out. Perhaps they can be given 'dummy' phones to hold, to mitigate withdrawal symptoms.

I wonder if other recording devices will be allowed....or will there only be an "official" record handed out ?

Read it: mobile phones and other communication devices not allowed...........................and no, theres no official recording ......a judgment is a judgment.

It says mobile phones and other communication devices...nothing about recording devices....can the reporters take a notepad and pencil and "record" the verdict that way or do they have to wait for the court to hand out am official "record" of the verdict
In writen or audio format ?
