BANGKOK — Thai officials said Tuesday that Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha will travel in early October to Washington D.C. to meet U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House.

Nearly three months after Trump extended the invitation during an impromptu call to shore up regional support against North Korea, the Prime Minister’s Office said the trip will happen now between Oct. 4 and Oct. 8.

Meeting of two great world leaders. Congratulations to the General and his team. The various polls are already showing that a vast majority of thais love his unbiased law abiding denocratic style, this visit will enhance it even further.

Prayuth better get in some ju-jitsu handshake practice.

The whole thing will be an excruciating grin-fest. Both leaders need validation from each other. I hope Trump makes some crass jokes or thinks he is meeting the leader of Taiwan. Prayut will tell Trump he is very handsome and Melania is hot. Expect a Trump Tower in Bangkok soon.

I have been receiving the news about the meeting between Prayuth and Trump since last 3 months ago. Furthermore, every week, his people keep talking about the arrangement of the meeting. Question : Why keep informing us? Finalise it and announce it.

New dates.....

Especially if he's caught off mic' expressing any 'erm forthright view on how fit Mrs P' is as is his want sometimes .. Not that the meet'up is guaranteed given the weekly s**t Trump seems to get hiself into .. And if this meeting does go ahead Chairman P would do well to take some lesson quickly on how to deal with criticism as for sure D J T will be reminding him that he is a guest of American democracy ..  And the mantle of criticism is not worn easily by Chair' P judging by the 1000 yd stare he gives out at some of his press conferences .. And don't forget a golf course along with the Tower .. :shock1:

The Gen's got Trump licked when it comes to medal's 'n bangles and epaulettes and stuff but Trump wins hands down when it comes to big hair and looking at that dodgy side parting Chair P may be in the market for a syrup 'o' fig before too long .. But both look equally comfortable using this latest piece of technology ..

More fiction from the generals.....!

It is very clear that the Thai PM attaches much more importance to this proposed meeting at the White House than President Trump ever does.   Trump probably wishes that he had never made the casual invitation in the first place.

We have all done it, of course, saying "we must get together some time", without ever expecting the recipient of the invitation to hold us to it.  Clearly, Trump did not know Prayut well enough to realize that the Thai PM would jump at the opportunity to appear (in his eyes) as a world leader, while the rest of the world is probably thinking "hey, look, there's that guy from Taiwan".

Why do they keep talking about this.
