Intimate touching deemed sexual harassment

A Public Health Ministry fact-finding committee has concluded that a senior official sexually harassed his subordinates.

 

Assadej Rattanaworaprasert, a 40-year-old division head at the ministry’s Office of the Permanent Secretary, will therefore face a disciplinary probe for grave disciplinary offences. 

 

An inquiry will also be held to establish why Assadej’s direct supervisor failed to take action despite knowing about his inappropriate behaviours. 

 

According to the fact-finding committee, Assadej has admitted to having touched his female subordinates but claimed he only did it to tease them, not for his sexual gratification.

So a disciplinary committee has been set up to probe into a man's groping. Thais love a committee meeting along with a free seafood buffet lunch. 

I predict the outcome. She was being provocative and he yielded to her temptations. His job restored and she lives in shame.

likely correct; but your projected excuse for him is lame; whatever, it will be, it will be far more irrational

Clearly this senior offal, excuse me: official, did not misuse his position, his staff merely misunderstood his attempts at team building - albeit misguided - while his own supervisor mismanaged the situation. Did I mis anything?

This should not be a revelation. Intimate touching without consent is always sexual harassment.

Even looking without consent is sexual harassment nowadays, they say.

Men and women should never touch each other, it is dirty.

Women-women and men-men seems to be ok, in private and in public.

Health official admits to sexually harass female subordinate but without intent

BANGKOK: -- A senior health official has admitted to sexually harass his female subordinate but claimed he had no intent, permanent-secretary of the Ministry of Public Health Dr Sopon Mekthon said yesterday.

 

He said the fact-finding committee investigating into a complaint by the female subordinate has concluded that the health official has sexually abused her but he claimed he had no intent to either harm her or had any adultery motivation.

 

With such finding of his serious misconduct, Dr Sopon said a disciplinary action committee would be appointed to consider punitive action against him.

Assadej said he was teasing them, not for sexual gratification.

Mans a bloody dipstick if he expects people to believe that nonsense.

That was the best excuse he could come up with at the time, no doubt a ghost will raise its head soon (no pun intended)
