Vientiane for Non O Marriage visa

Featured Replies

I want to go to Vientiane to get my single entry marriage visa.

I'm looking for people's experience doing this. I've gone to this consulate many times for the tourist visa but never for the marriage visa.

I know the requirements but I would like people to tell me how their trip went and if they would recommend going there for that purpose.

Not recent for myself but it easy to get a single entry non-o visa based upon marriage there.

No reports of anybody having a problem getting one.

Best to do it on Tuesday or Wednesday when the visa run vans are not there.

Question I thought I had the answer to but my wife just brought it up.

Does she have to be with me when I get my single entry marriage visa. At the consulate, not the extension in Thailand.

She does not have to be with you when you apply for the single entry non-o visa.

That's great to know because then she'd have to take 2 days off of work.
Thank you

Just a heads-up for those applying for visas in Vientiane. In the past, hours for visa applications were 8:30-12:00. This has changed recently to 8:30-11:30. Maybe, someone else has already reported this, but I do not remember reading it. It nearly caught me out this morning.

Been the same hours for some time now. You have to get a number by 11:30. Also shown on their website. http://vientiane.thaiembassy.org/en/consular/visa.php

The 08:30 to 12:00 is the hours for the consular section but not for visas.
