Yingluck protection team summoned

Yingluck protection team summoned

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Police have summoned the protection team assigned to fugitive former prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra after she mysteriously fled the country.

The team, led by Pol Colonel Watanyu Wittayaphalothai, met with Lad Phrao police and denied having prior knowledge of Yingluck’s decision to flee Thailand.

Police will match their statements against other facts collected in the case in a bid to find how Yingluck disappeared from her house on Yothin Pattana 3 before the reading of the court verdict in her negligence case last Friday.

Watanyu has provided security to Shinawatra political office-holders since Thaksin Shinawatra, following requests backed by the law.

However, Watanyu was seen as being too close to his subjects, including Yingluck.

Moved sideways, 500 Baht fine....Next !

scapegoat finale

Ah, the fall guys.

If those in power truly put faith in this team to keep a close eye on Yingluck, they'll be now experiencing first hand how corruption can be detrimental to even them.  But me thinks not even they're that naive.

Pretty easy for the protection team.... All they gotta say is they were given the day off. Plenty of plausible deniability.

For the team that were supposed to be tracking her every move... A bit harder to deny any failure or wrongdoing.

He may have thought about not letting her go, until she reminded him that several thousand red shirts camping in front of his house could be a nuisance.

Give these guys a medal!

As far as I can see, they protected her very well. Without them, she'd be in jail...

Even if Yingluck's escape was contrived on the quiet by the inner circle of Prayut's government he still has to find someone he can point the finger at and blame for letting her get away. That's the way things are done in Thailand.

so on Wednesday a body double dressed like Yingluck is in the trunk of her limo which has tinted glass, crawls out though the back seat, changes places with Yingluck, gets out wearing Jackie O sunglasses and walks into her house . Everyone thinks she is home.

Yingluck is in the trunk and off she goes.

Interrogator: "So, tell me, how exactly did she escape your 24-hour surveillance?"

Surveillance Team: "We hungry. Go somtam stall. Only 5 minute. Come back... she... she..."

Interrogator: "She gone?"

Surveillance Team: "Yes."

Interrogator: "Why didn't you visit the stall in turns, so at least someone would keep an eye on her?"

Surveillance Team: "Hungry men. Cannot think too mutt..."

rather like the UK Brexit soapie. Both pathetic

I think they mean the new millionaire previously known as Pol Colonel Watanyu Wittayaphalothai!

But now they have to prosecute the junta police overseer for not preventing it happening. Stitching up a couple of hapless local plod is no longer acceptable in Thailand 4.0. The precedent has already been set.unless it applies only in selective cases...

Hmm, they don't know how she left, hell they don't even know for sure IF she left, however they do seem to know that Thaksin arranged her escape.

The Junta cannot possibly do anything right.

Not sure how Yingluck slipped past the crack protection team...

Prayuth needs to get his cohorts all in the same room and on 1,2,3 each can point to those they consider responsible. Let us see who is the most convincing pointer!

... as the Team roll up to the meeting in their new Mercs

A gift of 5 million baht CASH has made many people forget in the past and will do the same in the future.

So has she fled the country really? Nobody seems to know.

I would flee if I was in her shoes.

Maybe not 100% innocent in everything but a politically motivated exercise to fix her. The whole thing is disgusting.

Oh, they can - just blame this instance onto the 'protection' squad. Easy way to save face (among big daddy's mates) but to the rest of any interested world countries this will be seen as a huge joke about incompetency! Red Bull heir also comes to mind. Oh well, too bad, how sad, never mind, the rich and/or powerful always manage to 'escape' their alleged crimes. Feudalism works for this mob.

The 'buck' stops at the top (well, in most normal managerial situations) but no one will point at the PM! Probably he will tell everyone who to point at :shock1:
