Harry and Meghan Slam Paparazzi at Children’s School

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have criticised what they described as “extraordinarily reckless” behaviour by paparazzi who they say were waiting outside their children’s school.

Criticism Of Paparazzi Around School

A spokesman for the couple said the photographers were an “unacceptable intrusion” and claimed they were “walking the perimeter” of Archie and Lilibet’s school. The spokesman said the photographers were stopping to look into the grounds and “monitoring children as they go about their day”.

“The decision by photographers to conduct themselves in this way around a school is extraordinarily reckless,” the spokesman said.

He added that it was already concerning, in his view, that some European paparazzi appeared unwilling to respect the privacy of children at school. The spokesman said the behaviour was particularly troubling in the described circumstances and came soon after an incident at RAF Fairford.

Claims Of Monitoring And Perimeter Watching

The couple moved their children to the current school from a previous UK school after only two weeks. It is understood the switch was prompted by heavy traffic on the journey and the distance travelled, which put pressure on the Sussexes’ security team.

It is also believed there was an incident in which the couple’s convoy of vehicles was disrupted.

Move To New School And Security Questions

Harry and Megan recently returned to the UK after years living in California following the prince’s decision to step back from royal duties. The school’s location and where the couple have chosen to live have not been made public.

Megan shared a glimpse of their life earlier this month through an Instagram video showing the family enjoying a countryside walk, jumping in puddles, cycling and fishing.

Meanwhile, an assessment is under way into whether the Sussexes should receive taxpayer-funded security now they are back in the UK, although the outcome remains unclear.
