Thai Airways has announced a temporary suspension of most inbound and outbound cargo acceptance at its Suvarnabhumi Airport warehouse from 00.01 on 1 October 2026 until 23.59 on 6 October 2026.
The airline said flooding has prevented some warehouse employees from travelling to work normally, creating staffing shortages and a significant backlog of cargo awaiting delivery or loading onto scheduled flights.
The revised notice, issued by the head of cargo warehouse operations at Thai Airways International, applies to customers using the airline's cargo terminal at Suvarnabhumi.
Flooding leaves cargo backlog
According to the notice, the staffing disruption has affected both the release of goods to customers and the processing of shipments for flights. A large volume of cargo has accumulated at the warehouse.
Thai Airways said it needed to halt new inbound and outbound cargo acceptance temporarily so it could manage available staff and resources while maintaining safety and operational efficiency.
The embargo is intended to allow the warehouse to return to normal operations as quickly as possible, the airline said.
Limited exemptions remain in place
The suspension does not apply to diplomatic documents, live animals, human remains or mail.
