Iran Receives US Response to Proposal to End War

Iran said it has received a US response to Tehran’s offer to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, as the country’s senior leaders review Washington’s counter-proposal following mediation by Qatar.

Iran’s statement came after the Revolutionary Guard said “military conflict” in the waterway continues daily, while a maritime agency reported that at least three commercial vessels have been hit by projectiles.

Strait of Hormuz Talks

The Iranian response comes as officials consider the terms of a US counter-proposal aimed at reopening one of the world’s most important shipping routes.

Iran said it had received the latest US reply to its earlier offer. Tehran did not provide further details of the proposals, but said the matter is under review by senior leadership.

Separately, the Revolutionary Guard said the situation in the Strait of Hormuz remains marked by daily clashes. It pointed to continued hostility in the region.

A maritime agency also reported damage incidents involving commercial shipping. It said at least three vessels were struck by projectiles, raising further concerns about safety in and around the strait.

Gaza Attacks Despite Ceasefire

In Gaza, Israeli attacks killed at least seven Palestinians and injured more than 10, according to reported figures.

The report said Israel is continuing actions in the territory despite a nearly year-old “ceasefire”, which it said is being violated.

The figures were presented in the context of continuing military operations across the Gaza Strip, with casualties reported from strikes during the same period.

Strike in Southern Lebanon

In southern Lebanon, Israel’s army targeted a Lebanese army vehicle, wounding one Lebanese soldier and three civilians, the report said.

It added that attacks and occupation continue in the area. No further details were provided on the circumstances of the incident or the condition of those injured.

The developments come amid broader regional tensions involving the Strait of Hormuz and ongoing fighting in Gaza and Lebanon.
