Israeli Strikes in Gaza Kill 12, Including Family of Six

At least 12 Palestinians were killed in three separate Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip, including six members of one family, local medics said.

Video shared from Gaza City overnight showed an apartment building in flames in the western al-Sabra neighbourhood. Medics said the strike killed the family of six, with the BBC identifying the brother of Firas al-Masri as saying they were trapped and burnt to death.

Firas al-Masri’s brother told the BBC that Firas was killed alongside his wife, Salsabeel, and their three daughters and son: Faryal, Salma, Amira and Naim.

Israeli military says target was Hamas operative

The Israeli military said its target was a Hamas operative and that it was still examining the outcome of the attack. No Israeli comment was provided on the deaths reported in the other two strikes that followed later.

On Tuesday afternoon, four people were killed in an Israeli air strike on a home in the al-Samar area of central Gaza City, Palestinian media reported, citing medics.

Two more people were killed in a separate Israeli drone strike on a vehicle in the al-Zahra area to the south of Gaza City, medics said.

The Israeli military had not commented on the air strike or the drone strike by the time of reporting.

Death toll since ceasefire and attacks in Gaza

According to Gaza’s Hamas-run health ministry, at least 1,168 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks since a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas took effect last October.

In the same period, four Israeli soldiers were reported killed in Palestinian attacks in Gaza.

The UN human rights office condemned the intensification of Israeli military attacks in Gaza on Tuesday.

Spokesman Thameen Al-Kheetan said that between 13 and 20 July, at least 57 Palestinians were killed in strikes on residential buildings, a tent camp for displaced families and other crowded areas. He said the victims included six children and eight women.

Al-Kheetan also said that 34 of those people were “killed far away” from the so-called Yellow Line, a boundary that marks territory in Gaza controlled by Israeli forces.

“Nine months after the announcement of a ceasefire, still, nowhere is safe for Palestinians in Gaza,” Al-Kheetan said. He added that the deaths of civilians “raises concerns of continuing violations of international humanitarian law, war crimes and other possible atrocity crimes in Gaza”.

Background to the campaign

The Israeli military has said it has carried out recent attacks targeting members of Palestinian armed groups, which it said were involved in the Hamas-led attack on Israel on 7 October 2023. During that attack, about 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage, according to Israeli and other reported figures.

Israel launched a military campaign in Gaza after the 7 October attacks. The Gaza health ministry said that more than 73,290 people have been killed in the conflict.

With every atrocity, war crime and crime against humanity, another day closer to funding and friends being reduced to zero, another day closer to the self-destruction of the Jew state.

They better not miss the last plane out.... If there is a place that will still accept them. 🙂

Hamas charter has as it's aim the eradication of the Jews

The original 1988 Hamas charter explicitly called for the destruction of Israel and the killing of Jews, frequently using antisemitic language drawn from religious texts. However, in a 2017 policy document, Hamas updated its stance to distinguish between Jews and "Zionists," stating its conflict is with occupying forces rather than the Jewish people.

They are simply anti-Zionists. Which is fair enough. Billions of people around the world and anti-Zionists. And with very good reasons. 🙂

The creation of the Jew state was the worst thing to happen in the 1940s. 🙂

It would appear that the current extremist government just can't help themselves, they must continue with the genocide, they must continue with the murder of women and children, and they must continue with the attempt to eliminate the Palestinian population in its entirety.

Some might even say they allowed 7th Oct to happen, so they could get round to expanding Israel and massacring their neighbors on an industrial scale while using it as an excuse.

Jews wouldn't be that conniving... would they.

Contested meanings of Zionism

In April 2024, Jonathan Guyer wrote in The Guardian that the term Zionism means different things to different people,[16] citing a 2022 survey of American Jews' views on Zionism conducted by Mira Sucharov of Carleton University.[17] The survey showed that a majority of American Jews identified as Zionist when it was defined as supporting a "Jewish and democratic state", but would reject the label if it was defined as "privileging Jewish rights over non-Jewish rights in Israel".[18][16]

According to American scholar Saree Makdisi, "when people think of Zionism now, they look at Gaza ... This is what it means: that you want to have an ethnically exclusive state," and, according to him, "it's ugly."[16] According to IfNotNow co-founder Simone Zimmerman, "a lot more young people, including young Jews, are listening to their Palestinian friends and classmates who are saying: 'This is what Zionism means to us.'" [16]

Israel's becoming increasingly less sympathetic to the world community, they are becoming a pariah state, and they risk becoming a non-entity within a just a few decades.

If it weren't for the massive amount of lobby being done by AIPAC and it's hundred or so proxy agencies that secretly funnel money to the US government, it's very possible the US would stop supporting Israel entirely. At that point they would be in dire straits, which is where they deserve to be.

You're entitled to your opinion, but you're presenting disputed allegations as settled fact.

Civilian deaths are tragic, but claiming Israel is deliberately exterminating Palestinians is an accusation that has not been legally established.

And saying AIPAC "secretly funnels money" into the US government is simply false.

Strong arguments rely on evidence, not hyperbole.

Being a Zionist isn't something I regard as offensive. People may agree or disagree with the ideology, but the word itself isn't inherently derogatory.

  1. Many people self identify as Zionists and do not regard the term as offensive.

  2. Others use “Zionist” neutrally to describe a political ideology.

  3. Some people use “Zionist” as a pejorative or as a stand in for "Jew," which can cross into antisemitic rhetoric depending on the context

The most moral army is at it again!!! Only if they fought like men. However they don’t because they know they got little chance in man to man fights. So let’s drop bomb on civilians has been their strategy.

You mean like the brave HAMAS who wear civilian clothing and hide among the civilian population whilst using schools and hospitals to store their munitions.

Very brave soldiers!

I noticed you only mentioned the children on the palestinian side. Hamas killed children on Oct 7.

Showing your bias there.

Jordan expelled the PLO after armed Palestinian factions built a state within a state, challenged Jordanian authority, backed attempts to overthrow King Hussein, and dragged the country toward civil war.

That was not ordinary refugee expulsion. It was the removal of armed organizations that had become a direct threat to the Jordanian state.

Everywhere these tribal nomads land there is trouble, be it Sweden or Jordan, the result is always the same.

Everybody should condemn Israel for not only allowing it to happen, but why they allowed it to happen.

Muslim countries informed them about it a year previously. In their high level security meetings they went through different ways to deal with it.

  1. first strikes outside of Israeli territory to stop it from happening.

  2. Wait for it to happen and have defenses in position to make sure there are no casualties inside Israel.

  3. Play dumb, let them greet a few locals, then use it as an excuse to destroy then control 90% of Gaza while massacring Palestinian men, women and children by the 10s of thousands, knowing that the reaction will also mean an excuse to steal and territory in the north.

Of course everybody can see which one the Jews opted for. 🙂

And YOU would know, being at the centre of operations for counterterrorism in Israel?

Oh no, that's it, just a leftist AN poster relying on his keyboard and ignoring facts.

The Greater Israel doctrine called for the enlarging and maximum control of territories with minimum Arab population with force displacement. Granted Israel has the right to be angry but they have gone beyond angry. It has been close to 3 years since that fateful day and the killings by Israel has not stopped. It is now genocide.

Yes, not only Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, Smotrich, Minister Katz, and Herzog and the generals need a ticket to the Hague. Also the news anchors and their editors on channels 12 & 14 and some newspaper people should join them, for inciting genocide.
