Trump Says USS Lincoln Deployment 'Not Nearly Long Enough'

I hate to defend him, but I wonder if he was referring to the blockade rather than the time the sailors were at sea?

I know, I know......where is my head at?......Didn't sleep too well last night.

I’m sure many of the sailors and crew will have several photos to share with the public once they return. I’m sure they will probably want to ban them from showing the pictures, but you know how “leaks” go and many newspapers, magazines and other media outlets will pay plenty for them. That will show the conditions as they were, not as just told.

This isn’t a pre-planned rotation. It is an emergency band-aid that trades Asian regional security to salvage an overextended crew!

As for the crew of the USS George Washington, when they said goodbye to their families in May, they expected a standard, predictable 4-to-6 month Pacific patrol with planned port visits. Instead, three months into it, their mission has been hijacked. They are now being sailed into a high-intensity combat zone in the Middle East with absolutely no end date in sight. They are essentially inheriting the Lincoln's never-ending deployment!

I rather expect at least one Naval officer's career has been ruined. I believe some of this is caused by the crew knowing they are doing all for nothing. Todays' sailors and Marines are not completely ignorant nor stupid. Bet on it being in their minds. I know it damn sure was in mine in Vietnam and if anything this "war" is even more stupid, illegal and immoral. Between dear leader Trump and white christian nationalist Hegseth they are destroying our armed forces and all the while China's Xi is preparing to take Taiwan and SE China Seas. Xi know knows the US government and the Pentagon under current "leadership" is incapable of planning and pursing a war.

Oh you can bet the entire ship will be if it already hasn't been sworn to silence, not pictures, no words, i.e. threatened, etc. Impossible to cover this up, too many people and the cat's out of the bag. Lies on the part of the government will not help. Expect to see some discharged under unfavorable conditions, demotions etc. The beatings will continue until moral improves.

A little prejudice from an old Marine SGT, wonder how well the officers are eating etc. , just asking you see.

We only hear about the Carrier's problems, so what about the rest of the Carrier group? Odd we don't hear about them.

The issue seems to be the Gulf ports usually available for leave, resupply, repair are not safe currently for unfettered use as usual.

Surely this is a long & costly deployment for a ship not actually doing anything with 5,000+ crew. Think their families don’t need them home? All these little spits from Goofy in Charge are really going to win votes. Way to go, Don-boy!

This is just another one of those spectacularly ignorant statements uttered by a man who would be infinitely more popular if he just kept his ridiculous mouth shut.

It reminds one of the recent statement he made when asked about inflation by a reporter, he replied by saying I don't care about American's financial position. Of course he doesn't he's grifting billions of dollars and it's been decades since he's got to the grocery store or filled his car up with gas.
