Two Jewish Men Stabbed in North London

Board of Deputies says it's working with police to ensure 'forceful response'

18:34

The Board of Deputies of British Jews has also issued a statement.

"We are aware of a reported stabbing incident in Golders Green, with two injured," it says on X.

"The police have apprehended a suspect.

"We are liaising with the CST [Community Security Trust], government and police to understand what has happened and ensure a forceful response."

UPDATE

BRITAIN-CRIME-POLICE-RELIGION

Suspect detained after incident

Shomrim, which operates in the area, said its members detained a male suspect following the attack. The group said the incident involved attempts to stab “Jewish members of the public.”

According to Shomrim, the suspect had been seen running along Golders Green Road armed with a knife.

Political leaders condemn attack

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer described the incident as an “utterly appalling” antisemitic attack in a post on X, adding that “attacks on our Jewish community are attacks on Britain.”

London Mayor Sadiq Khan also condemned the violence, calling it an “appalling attack on two Jewish Londoners.” He said there would be increased police visibility in the area.

Recent incidents in the area

The stabbing follows a series of incidents in the same neighbourhood, which has a large Jewish population and is home to several synagogues, schools and restaurants.

In recent weeks, an arson attack on several ambulances in the area was condemned by Starmer as a “deeply shocking antisemitic” act. A separate suspected arson incident was also reported earlier this week.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the suspect or the condition of the victims.

So as not to mislead anyone: the U.K. government said the terrorism threat level was not raised solely due to the Golders Green attack.

And according to the BBC, the suspect in the knife attack may have been involved in another attack on Tuesday. No details were given.

The authorities in the U.K. appear to be taking the recent spate of attacks on British Jews seriously. 👍

UK terrorism threat level raised to severe after Golders Green attack

The terrorism threat level in the UK has been increased by the government from "substantial" to "severe" - meaning that a terrorist attack is considered highly likely in the next six months.

It comes after two Jewish men were stabbed in north London on Wednesday in an attack the Metropolitan Police is treating as a terrorist incident.

The government said on Thursday evening that the increase in the threat level was not solely as a result of the Golders Green attack, but had also been "driven by an increase in broader Islamist and extreme right-wing" threats.

https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cq6p4pz6p62o

This is an ironic twist on the story, again from the BBC:

Jewish ambulance charity treated suspect at scene, BBC understands

BBC News understands that Hatzola, a Jewish charity ambulance service, treated the suspected Golders Green attacker.

Its staff were among the first on the scene and tended to the suspect, who was Tasered by police, before he was taken to hospital.

More and more establishments have 'No Israelis' signs. Which is great. No non-Israeli would choose to be around such things while out and about or dining.

As well they should. No Jew is safe now. Every single Jew is a target for being stabbed, shot or blown up, at any time anywhere in the world. Yours, Bibi.

Treatment numbers: Israel’s Defense Ministry reported treating around 80,000–85,000 soldiers for psychological disorders since the war began (as of late 2025), up significantly from pre-war baselines (e.g., ~62,000 cases noted early on). One official described this surge as “unprecedented.”

You assume that the majority are decent , law abiding citizens, and I certainly hope they are. Unfortunately, the failure of the community to speak out against indecent and unlawful activities suggests an absence of social conscience.

How many protests have there been in respect to the ongoing horrors in Somalia, Sudan, Nigeria etc? You do know that hundreds of thousands of people have been slaughtered in these countries, don't you? They wouldn't even protest the mass murders in Syria. When is the last time the Pakistani or Bengali community took a stand on arranged child marriages, domestic abuse, etc? Did the Pakistani community repudiate and assist the authorities with the child sex abuse grooming gangs? On the contrary, the community hid and helped cover up the scandal. Who came out to protest the public lynching of the Iranians accused of protesting against the regime?

Most people lack the courage to speak out publicly. If individuals do speak out then they make themselves targets so keeping quiet is understandable. Having said that, I do think that community leaders such as Imams could be more vocal in their condemnation of violent acts commited by their community.

What strikes me, is the contrast between the willingness to blame the UK citizens of jewish faith for the perceived sins of a foreign sovereign nation, and the failure of the same people to apply the same standards to other communities. I read some of the above comments from the toerags of hateand see that no one points out the hypocrisy and bigotry.

Do you have a credible, accurate source using actual Israeli data and information? You are relying on an article from the biased Anadolu Agency which is a state-run news agency headquartered in Ankara, Turkey. The agency has a hostile and negative position on Israel.

Can you translate this from gibberish?

Cyprus has a small community of Israelis, approx. 15,000. In contrast the Russians have an estimated 90,000+ including legal and illegal residents. Do share the crime data associated with the Israelis v. the UK demographic.

And once again, we see the biased and false claims for Pai and Koh Phagnan made. The crime data does not support your claim. On islands including Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, 5,938 Israelis sought short- and long-term visas from Jan 1 to March 11 according to the T hai government. Among Israelis seeking long-stay visas, 139 in Mae Hong Son, one in Amnat Charoen province, and none in Phrae and Phayao. How is it that the Thai government data is so vastly different from your claim? I believe it is because you are intentionally misleading.

The figure of over 80,000 (specifically ~85,000) that appeared on www.aa.com (Anadolu Agency, a Turkish state-owned news outlet) comes from a statement by Tamar Shimoni, deputy head of the Israeli Defense Ministry’s Rehabilitation Department. She made the remarks in an interview with Israeli Army Radio (Galei Tzahal) around December 7–8, 2025.

•  Shimoni also noted that one-third of Israeli soldiers face psychological problems linked to October 7 and the war, alongside rises in drug addiction and extreme therapist caseloads (one therapist handling up to 750 patients).

The Anadolu Agency article titled “Over 80,000 Israeli soldiers treated for psychological disorders since Gaza war, official says” directly attributes this to her comments. Other outlets (e.g., TRT World) carried nearly identical reporting based on the same Army Radio interview.

Its refreshing to see you admit to your antisemitism so openly.

Hopefully others on the forum will see this and grow a pair and drop the #bekind schtick and admit to their own racism.

Then we can finally have an honest conversation.

"What is going on here?" To ask your question: The attack by Axel Rudakubana was not terrorist-related by any responsible measure, but the attack on the two British Jews has been deemed terrorist by police. The difference is motivation.

Rudakubana's deadly attack was the result of mental illness, but the Somali-born attacker's motive appears to be anti-Jewish. The stabber chose his victims on the basis of their religion.

Where as Rudakubana just hated little girls stabbing 13, killing 3 of them. Stab two jews, don't actually kill them, and it is the crime of the century.

What mental illness was Rudakubana suffering from exactly, oh please do enlighten us.

6 pages about a stabbie loon, not one page about the actual terrorist attack this week when the Real IRA attacked a police station with a car bomb. Guess people here don't really care about the lives of coppers.

The fact that I have knives at home, doesn't make me a butcher either.

The "choir boy" you mention was obsessed with evil and propagating evil deeds, including mass murder. He was a deeply disturbed individual and not a terrorist, not even a domestic one. Not even close.

Nobody likes coppers, do they? The response to the "stabbie loon" is 50% about how the Jewish community is increasingly under threat, and 50% about how the Met isn't doing their job properly. Every time the cops, any cops are suspected of breaking a rule, they are either referred, or refer themselves to some independent complaints commission.

"Softly, softly..." is being totally misinterpreted these days.
