US Presents Iran With 15-Point Plan to End Conflict

The United States has delivered a 15-point proposal to Iran aimed at ending the ongoing conflict, outlining conditions for a ceasefire and longer-term negotiations.

The plan, put forward under the administration of Donald Trump, includes strict limits on Iran’s nuclear programme and calls for the reopening of the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.

Ceasefire and negotiation framework

According to reports, the proposal includes a commitment by both Washington and Tehran to observe a one-month ceasefire. The pause in hostilities would allow time for negotiations on a broader and more permanent agreement.

The framework is said to build on earlier proposals discussed during nuclear talks in May 2025.

The plan was reportedly conveyed to Iran through intermediaries from Pakistan, which has offered to act as a mediator. Talks are expected to be led by JD Vance, with Washington pushing for negotiations to begin in Islamabad.

Iran expresses scepticism

Iranian officials have reacted cautiously, signalling distrust of US intentions. According to diplomatic sources, Tehran has told mediators it does not want to be “fooled again”, citing the recent deployment of US forces to the region.

The proposal was also publicly dismissed by Ebrahim Zolfaqari, who mocked Washington’s claims of diplomacy.

“Has the level of your inner struggle reached the stage of you negotiating with yourself?” he said, criticising the US position.

Regional reactions

The plan has also drawn attention from Israel, which has supported continued military pressure on Iran. Reports suggest Israeli officials were taken by surprise by the US initiative.

The latest diplomatic effort comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, with military activity continuing alongside attempts to broker a ceasefire.

Iran Rejects US Peace Plan in Blow to Efforts to End War

(Bloomberg) -- Iran said it rejected a US ceasefire proposal and maintained attacks on Israel and Gulf Arab states, delivering a blow to Washington’s efforts to end a war that’s wreaked havoc across the Middle East and global markets.

A move by US President Donald Trump to start indirect talks is illogical and not viable at this stage of the conflict, Iran’s semi-official Fars news agency reported on Wednesday, citing informed sources it didn’t identify.

Iran is focused on achieving its objectives and only if those are met will an end to the war — not a ceasefire — be possible, Fars added.

The US has compiled a 15-point peace proposal, which Pakistan delivered to the Islamic Republic, according to people familiar with the matter, highlighting urgency within Trump’s administration to resolve a conflict it started alongside Israel almost a month ago.

Another global humiliation for America ? Be it Trump or Biden or some before. It's always been a humiliation in the wars ignited by America or by Israel in the current war in Hormuz.

Iran has rejected this proposal and countered with their own offer which includes reparations for damages.

The five conditions imposed by Tehran

Iran has put on the table a series of precise demands to end the conflict. There are five conditions and they concern military, political and economic aspects:

  • total cessation of assaults and murders;

  • concrete guarantees to avoid the resumption of war;

  • defined compensation for damages suffered;

  • an end to hostilities on all fronts involving allied groups;

  • international recognition of Iran's right to the Strait of Hormuz.

It is a rigid negotiating platform, which marks a clear distance from Western demand

Vastly different which seems to have no real exit.

I fear Trump is following Putin's deception tactic and this list of demands he has sent is a cover whilst USA potential feet on the ground continue to arrive.

The loss of US and Iranian lives if a ground force goes into action will be horrific . . .

According to Sky news, Iran has 1 million armed men to repulse them. Its hard to see how 7/8000 heroic well trained Americans can make any significant difference - it would just be more escalation.

God help them, and us . . . .

If that’s the case then it’s yet more evidence Trump is underestimating Iran.

Chomper - yes - IMO case already proven that Trump has underestimated Iran from the start, (taking inspiration from the 'success' in Venezuela).

If the USA puts feet on the ground, unfortunately that can only lead to escalation and a much longer war. He has to stop, now.

It's a dire situation, and American voters will have his guts for garters in the end.

The 'feet on the ground' decision is the top of a very slippery slope. I hear that in Afghanistan the USA had 100,000 troops in place - a move with only 7,000 in Iran has no chance of achieving much without further massive numbers being added later.

Let's hope the US sees sense in time . . . . .
